3 Unique games for your child (1-3 yrs)
FOR A ONE YEAR OLD CHILD:
A game to develop texture and sensitivity:
Put an apron your child. Spread a newspaper on the floor. Mix bowls of colour and place them in the centre. Spread sheets of white paper on the newspaper. Dip your child’s hand first in any bowl and help her place the painted palms on the white paper. Make prints of her palms all over the page indifferent colours.
You can do the same with her feet as well. Let the white pages be full of imprints of different colours. Place the prints in random order. While the paper is drying, you can carry your baby to the wash basin to wash her hands and feet before anything smudges.
FOR A TWO YEAR OLD CHILD:
Buy him a set of toy musical instruments: a toy tambourine, a xylophone, a trumpet, a drum with sticks. A toy guitar. Keep a CD player ready with a good musical piece ready . Sit with your child- put on the music then show your child how each of the instrument is played. ( Pretend you know how to play even if you don’t !) Then play the music. If your child doesn’t pick any instrument, you do so as an example. When your child picks up any instrument, you pick up another and start playing. You may be off key and make a lot of noise, but you’ll enjoy this time with your child.
