WHAT DOES THIS WORLD LOOK LIKE to your small lolo who has just come into this world?
Kids see this world with their own understanding and limitations.
By understanding the way your child sees things around, you can address his/her needs better and can make them a lot more comfortable.
As the beautiful saying goes,
“Let the little wonders be little who fill their hearts with giggle,
help them grow wings to nurture their sense of being and
inspire them to believe and love them always like there is no tomorrow”.
In this post, you would get to know how your little baby sees the world around.
0-5: Inside Your Child’s Brain
Here are some details that would help you to know your child better.
Your New Born
This world looks very strange and new to your new born.
Like they say, ‘To think like a baby is not to think at all.’
He gets terrified a lot of times to see things around.
You can’t ask your baby questions or ask him to describe his feelings.
You need to cuddle him gently and hug him and kiss him to make him feel safe, loved and secured.
This is why a lot of love is given to all new borne.
The little baby has no idea of what is happening around.
He does not even have a sense of day and night and does not understand anything around other than his own needs.
Recently, some scientists have tried to ‘enter the head’ of babies.
They studied the baby’s brain tissue and analyzed neural connections and eye movements.
The findings were quite surprising.
A baby’s brain actually has more neurons and brain cells than an adult’s brain.
They absorb more information.
The older babies have started understanding the most important people in his life – his parents.
He has developed a much better understanding of the world around and would always prefer to be around his mum.
He sees the world around with his curious eyes and would love to explore every single object that comes on his way.
He gets anxious in the company of strangers and the mere sight of them may upset your baby and scare him a lot.
Till 2 years, your kid is only exploring different colors, objects and sounds.
He would never do anything out of naughtiness but may do something over and over again to enjoy and explore the experiences which get created.
Screaming or shouting at your child who is less than 2 years is not a good idea.
A lot of times your child may not know why are you screaming at him.
He may not be able to relate your screaming with what he did.
After two years, your child understands to differentiate between right and wrong and he does wrong things out of naughtiness to gain your attention.
Playing forms an important activity
At 2, playing becomes really important as kids love to learn things by playing around.
They love to play new games and sing rhymes.
They also start to copy new words by observing you talking to others.
Their world starts and revolves around you.
They depend a lot on you for the much needed appreciation.
The kids love to see the trees, butterflies, flowers and birds around at this age.
They love to socialize and play around with other kids too.
18m – 3 yrs is a difficult phase
This is a very difficult phase to depend upon.
It is when the parents find it very difficult to control their children.
The child feels he is the centre of the world and gives preference to his needs all the time.
He is very expressive and may behave annoyingly if his needs are not fulfilled.
This is when your kid will love to play with messy things like water colors, sand etc.
He would love to play with other kids and will start making new friends as well.
He will sober down a bit and would understand the feelings and emotions of you as a parent.
Your child will love to hear fiction and rhymes.
You may narrate those stories and they would love to hear them over and over again.
This is how your child perceives things around.
Be little patient as a parent as each of these phases last only for a while and will surely bring in the desired results.
